Perthshire craft beer-makers, Inveralmond Brewery, are holding a special Christmas Open Day to celebrate the seasonal launch of their popular festive craft beer, Santa’s Swallie, taking place on Saturday 12th December. The event will also mark the introduction of Ooskabeer Batch #1, the
brewery’s first ‘whisky beer’ produced in collaboration with The Glenturret Distillery.

Visitors are being invited along between 10am and 4pm to sample Santa’s Swallie, a dark copper coloured Christmas ale with hints of seasonal nutmeg and cinnamon. Visitors can also take a tour of the brewery and meet the man behind the magic – the brewer that is, not Santa – whilst stocking up on the festive tipple and some unique Christmas gifts for beer lovers. A deliciously Scottish collaboration between two leading Perthshire based craft producers, Inveralmond Brewery and Glenturret Distillery, has delivered the region’s first tipple to be aged in former whisky casks. Launching Ooskabeer Batch #1 at a wintery Perth’s St Andrews Day Festival Market at the weekend, spirits from both the Brewery and the Distillery were in fine mettle to brave the winter weather as both producers stood side by side for the few hours that the market remained open to offer the new brew to a curious and discerning market customer.

Working together over the past six months, Glenturret provided the casks, while Inveralmond added in premium Scotch Ale and the brewing expertise to develop a product that has all the weight of a classic strong ale, with all the strength of a warming whisky on the palate. Continue reading

Inveralmond Brewery’s charitable brew is continuing to fly high after just one month on sale, with over 30 outlets across Scotland signing up to serve the benevolent beer, created to raise funds for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).
